Screening Tool - Empathy
EQ-60
Empathy Quotient
A 60-item self-report measure of empathy developed by Baron-Cohen and Wheelwright (2004). It assesses cognitive and affective empathy through 40 scored items and 20 filler questions. Lower scores used to be associated with autism.
Important: This is a screening tool, not a diagnostic instrument. A score of 30 or below suggests lower empathy, which used to be considered common in autistic people. However, many factors can influence empathy scores and many autistic people have average or above-average empathy. Please consult a qualified professional for diagnosis.

Your Neurodivergent Trait Profile
Based on your EQ-60 answers. Lower empathy scores map to higher neurodivergent traits. Complete more quizzes to build a richer profile.
Reminder: This is a screening tool only. It does not provide a diagnosis. Empathy is complex and multifaceted. Lower scores do not mean a person lacks compassion or kindness. If your score suggests lower empathy, consider speaking with a specialist who understands autism and neurodivergence.
